Medical examinations at the ambulatories of the targeted villages
With the high support of the Canadian Fund for Local Initiatives (CFLI) ‘For Humanity’ charitable foundation and ‘Maple Leafs’ Medical Clinic are implementing online supporting programs to rural communities.
In the first stage of the implementation of the project online medical and psychological consultations have been organized via special mobile application in four selected villages of Armenia ( Lusarat, Norashen, Shahumyan, and Gai). The program is maintained to support rural populations during the crisis and post-crisis periods of COVID 19 when the country is in an emergency state and people are self-isolated.
During the last three months, the whole medical staff of ‘Maple Leafs’ Clinic has been involved in the active process of medical and psychological consultations. We are regularly receiving 10-15 calls daily from the project beneficiaries and their family members. In many cases, one beneficiary is receiving several consultations and psychological support as well.
It’s worth mentioning that the number of consultations is very exceeded from the 460 planned consultations (nearly 300 extra consultations have been done).
Now we are in a special quarantine period and we are continuing the implementation of the second stage of the project. The doctors of Maple Leafs clinic are visiting the four selected villages and providing direct endocrinological, neurological, psychiatrical, psychological consultations, and ultrasound examinations for the project beneficiaries.
At this moment, The number of the COVID-19 infected people is rapidly rising in Armenia. Actually, we are facing a new crisis period (On October 5 there have been 181 cases, on October 16- 1465 cases).
